Do you use PayPal when you shop online? Designate Canal Alliance as your favorite charity on PayPal and you can donate $1 every time you shop! It’s an easy way to have a big impact over time. To set Canal Alliance as your favorite charity on desktop, login to PayPal and visit the Canal Alliance page, then click the heart icon. On the PayPal mobile app, select Payments>Give>Set favorite charity. Then search for Canal Alliance, and click the heart icon on the Canal Alliance page.
Donations of material items: please note that we accept a very limited number of material items. We are currently accepting:
- Gift cards (preferably Visa/MasterCard, or Target, Safeway, or other grocery store cards)
- Diapers (we particularly need sizes 5, 6, and pull-ups)
- The following toiletries: toothbrushes and toothpaste, lotion, shampoo, soaps, and deodorants
- The following new school supplies: kids’ scissors, color pencils, markers, crayons, glue sticks, notebooks and watercolors.
- Accessories (new) for all ages: backpacks, winter gloves, scarves, and beanies.

Donor advised funds
An increasingly popular method of charitable giving, a donor advised fund (DAF) can be an easy and flexible way to manage your giving and help you achieve your strategic philanthropic goals.

Gifts of Stock
Making a gift of appreciated stock or mutual funds is a tax-wise way to support Canal Alliance.

Corporate Matching Gifts
You can double or sometimes triple your giving to Canal Alliance through your employer’s matching gift program. Many employers sponsor matching gift programs that match charitable contributions made by their employees. Please check with your employer’s Human Resources department to see if they will match your giving to Canal Alliance. Become a Monthly Sustaining Donor
Become a member of our Aliados (Spanish for ‘allies’). Aliados are dedicated immigrant advocates who demonstrate their commitment by making a monthly or quarterly recurring donation to support the dreams of hard-working immigrants and their families in Marin.
Create an Online Fundraiser
An increasing number of donors are celebrating their birthdays, anniversaries and other milestone events by asking friends and family to make donations to Canal Alliance in lieu of gifts.
If you wish to do the same, it is easy to set up a personal fundraising page or campaign on Classy, which is our online fundraising platform. You may also set up a personal fundraising page on Facebook.

Our commitment to our donors
Canal Alliance will not sell, share or trade our donors’ names or personal information with any other entity, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations.
This policy applies to all information received by Canal Alliance, both online and offline, on any platform (including the Canal Alliance website and mobile applications), as well as any electronic, written, or oral communications.
To the extent that donations are processed through a third-party service provider, our donors’ information will only be used for purposes necessary to process the donation.
